Lower Mainland Intermediate Pressure System Upgrade Project

The project consisted in locating and exposing of underground
utilities at specified crossing locations throughout Coquitlam,
Burnaby and Vancouver. Over 250 existing underground utilities
were conducted along a stretch of 22km. Work inclusive of
hydro-excavation and machine excavation, survey backfill and
full restoration to existing conditions and in accordance with
Municipal Specifications and MoTI. Data was collected (station,
nothing, easting, type, size, owner, material, depth of cover from
original ground elevation, top of pipe elevation, status and general
condition of utility) and submitted in collaborated packages to
Worley Parsons and FortisBC.

Extensive traffic control was conducted along major roadways such
as 1st Avenue in Vancouver, Lougheed Highway and Broadway in
Burnaby, and Como Lake in Coquitlam. Terra was in collaboration
with various utility owners and inspectors such as: MoTI, FortisBC,
Metro Vancouver, Kinder Morgan, Imperial Oil, BC Hydro, Shaw
and Telus.

Terra was fully complied with environmental and safety guidelines
set by FortisBC/Worley Parsons. A full-time field safety advisor
was assigned to be on site during all field operations.
