Port Coquitlam Yard Lagoon Decommissioning And Stormwater Infrastructure Upgrade

December 2019 – April 2020
Client: Canadian Pacific Railway
Project Value: 0.7 Million

As a direct contractor to CP, Terra is E-Rail Safe and ISNet world certified. The two certifications allow contractors to exemplify the ability to conduct work in a safe, environmental compliant, and systematic way.

The project started in fall of 2019, and the weather posed severe challenges to the project. Despite significant ground water and soil condition challenges on this project, Terra applied sophisticated well pointing, ground water control, and slide rail shoring. The successful collaboration with consultants from Keystone Environmental and Geowest Consulting was also a key contributing factor to project’s delivery.

During feasibility review stages, Terra provided our client alternate cost saving solutions; allowing additional scope of work to be completed without exceeding the overall budget.

Key Highlights:

  • Dewatered 2mil gallons of lagoon water
  • Environmentally sensitive site
  • Fish removal
  • Excellent ground water control
  • Worked during active railway
