City of Burnaby Community Safety Building
September 2024 – February 2025

Client: Kinetic Construction Ltd
Project Value: 15 Million
4241 Ledger Ave, Burnaby
Terra initiated the first phase of construction, including excavation and shoring, for the Integrated
Project Delivery (IPD) of the new Community Safety building located in Burnaby. The IPD
program emphasizes enhanced collaboration among stakeholders, design and construction teams,
and other involved parties to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
The project involves 100,000 m3 of excavation, close to 42,000 linear feet of R32/R38 anchor
drilling, and 40,500 square feet of 4 inch shotcrete installation. Terra managed to deliver
miscellaneous scopes, including all imported gravel placement for footings and perimeter backfill,
which required approximately 17,500 mt.
This helped Kinetic achieve a key schedule milestone for a major project for the City of Burnaby.
It was the largest in-house shoring project for Terra so far, showcasing our capability and
professionalism as one of GeoPacific’s qualified shoring subcontractors in the Vancouver
Lower Mainland.
