Terra Contracting was awarded the bulk excavation and shoring project at 3131 St Johns, Port Moody. This project involved Terra excavating 9 m below existing ground and 5-rows of anchor. The geotechnical consultant for this project were GeoPacific.
For this project, Terra excavated and hauled 23,000 m3 of soil. The shoring work involved with the installation of 18,000 sf of 4” shotcrete and 13,000 lf of conventional anchors.
Due to sandy ground conditions, 75% of the anchors were switched to IBOs at the recommendation of the geotech.
After the completion of the excavation and shoring scope, Terra was awarded the offsite civil contract for this project. The civil contract scope includes installing underground services, new roadwork, and the installation of new street lights.
